First Kitchen of 2019 was a refit job . A friend of the family had purchased a kitchen from Wren, and subsequently had employed another friend to install it .
I went to see the kitchen before Christmas 2018 and was surprised at how many basic mistake that had been made with this kitchen .
Not one single unit was level or plumb ( vertical ) and this was supposed to have quartz worktops fitted to it . All the clad on end panels were cut wrong , as in too short, or too deep .. there were gaps between joins and protruding out in front of the doors .. The dishwasher run was not even in line and there was no access to the plumbing and electrical services to either the dishwasher or Belfast sink .
The worst bit was the 100 wall unit that had been cut around a pillar to fit . The installer had cut the top correct , but then cut the bottom from the front instead of back see photo
As shown in the photo above , the discrepancies with the paneling behind the sink unit . we re-cut these with new panels and fixed them correctly which included the new unit you can see in the foreground . re- cut the pillars and fitted the sink in place , which included sorting the plumbing out
The photo above shows the sink in position with panels cut correctly and all fixed and solid ready for the Quartz to be fitted .
This is a before shot of the appliance run . After leveling and lining through the units and dishwasher , we had to re-cut the existing panel to make if fit correctly . re level the wall units .. take down the 1000 wall and fit new carcase . once done it looked a bit like this
The following few photographs show the finished result .. no worktops tho .
Will be going back to this one once the Quartz has been fitted and install some wall panels to the walls .. great alternative to tiles . All in all turned out fine in the end , with a happy customer who can see the end in sight . He has been all over Christmas without sink and fridge .
